The Light Curve Morphology Analysis

The light curves of 48 contact binaries have been modeled in order to confirm their contact configuration. The data were taken from the Kepler Eclipsing Binary Catalogue. For every object the light curves were folded and binned. The modeling does not take into account the phase smearing effect.

Resulting best fitting models:

Objects modeled earlier (I)
Objects modeled earlier (II)
Objects that required introduction of a spot
Objects without a mandatory spot

Selected relations between the system parameters:

Orbital period v. fillout factor
Orbital period v. mass ratio
Mass ratio v. fillout factor
Mass ratio (M2/M1) v. effective temperature
MMS v. abs. magnitude & effective temp. v. absolute magnitude
